What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser. They let a site remember things like whether you have visited before, which pages you have looked at, and (for booking sites) what property you were browsing. Some are essential for the site to work, others help us understand what is being read.
Cookies we use
Essential (always on)
These are required for the site and the booking flow to function. They cannot be switched off.
- Session cookie — keeps your enquiry form intact across pages.
- Cloudflare — protects the site from attacks and measures speed to serve pages efficiently.
Analytics (opt-in)
These help us understand which pages are read, what people search for, and where the site could be improved. We do not use them for advertising.
- Google Analytics 4 — anonymised page views, referrers, and session duration. IP addresses are anonymised. Retained for 26 months.
Booking (essential during booking)
Once you commit to a booking, our booking platform (Guesty) and payment processor (Stripe) place their own cookies to secure the transaction.
Marketing cookies
We do not use marketing cookies. No third-party advertising trackers, no retargeting pixels, no social media pixels.
Managing cookies
You can control cookies in several ways:
- Browser settings: every modern browser lets you block or delete cookies. Doing this may break some site features.
- Analytics opt-out: install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on: tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
- Global privacy signals: we honour Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals if your browser sends them.
Changes to this policy
If we add or change cookies, we will update this page. The date at the top shows the last revision.
